My son is an individual. Despite the fact that his parents are crazy football fans and could care less about baseball, he decided when he was about 2 that he loved baseball. He'd willingly sit and watch it on TV. We've even Tivoed a few games for him or let him watch portions of Sports Center. We've taken him to a few minor league games in the past, but tonight we took our oldest two children to their first Major League Baseball Game.
As we drove to the ballpark, my son started singing the song and said, "Come on everyone join me"
So please join us...
Take Me Out to the Ballgame
Take me out to the crowds (hmm...not quite)
Buy me some peanuts
and crackerjacks ballpark franks
I don't care if I never get back
Let me root, root, root for the home team
If they don't win it's a shame
For it's one, two, three strikes your out
At the old....ball....game!!!
A good time was had by all. And the looks on my kids faces as they took in the sights, sounds, and tastes of the ball field was my absolute favorite part.
that is so sweet, crystal. :) it looks like everyone had a blast. 'everyone' being you 4, because it doesn't look like anyone else was there!

ReplyDeleteHow fun for you guys! Baseball ROCKS! Our family is a bunch of baseball-aholics! We live, eat and breathe baseball during the season. When we lived in the SF Bay Area we were at Candlestick Park all the time - tickets were cheap and plentiful. However, once PacBell Park opened things changed.
Candlestick was a very old stadium so only real baseball fans would go to the games. PacBell was brand new, state of the art and became the place to be seen. You couldn't watch a game in "peace" 'cuz the people around you were too busy doing the up/down thing - food, bathroom, more food, more food. . .it was really sad and the kids missed going.
Now that we live in NV we are able to take the kids to watch the Reno Silver Sox minor league ball and it's affordable, small venue and lots of fun. We do watch our beloved SF Giants on TV all the time though. The may not be a great team but they are our team! LOL
ADORABLE!!! Blessings, Whitney
