I was scrolling through pictures, trying to figure out what to post for THAT Family's weekly carnival, when I came across these photos from my Newlywed Days. Aren't these just a blast from the past?
Here we are enjoying our first dinner in our apartment... yup that would be frozen pizza and champagne. We had just flown in from our honeymoon in St Lucia (you can see the unopened wedding presents behind us). And check out those newly married tans! My terrific hubby thought ahead and stocked the freezer with pizza and the fridge with some nice bubbly so we'd have dinner waiting for us when we returned. I remember we opened wedding presents until we found sheets, then we were able to make the bed.
We didn't even have a table yet. I believe the next day we set out to buy a card table which we used for 5 months before buying our dining room table. We had only room for our plates on the table, the drink pitcher always sat at the floor beside us and the food was typically on the counter. I wish I had time to scan those pics of our first meal on a real table (but I am trying to pack for my big trip to Texas today and I don't have time).
I also came across this picture. We were so excited about all of our new gadgets. Here were are toasting our cappuccino's with our new cappuccino machine. We used to make cappuccino's all the time with that thing. Clearly this was before digital cameras as I am sporting my very typical eyes shut pose.
Be sure to come back this weekend. I'll have two guest posts and my very first give a way!
Those were the days right?! All we need is love :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I started dating Andy, he had lawn furniture for his living room furniture and a milk crate for foot rest!! Oh, and a cardboard box for a trash can!! We didn't have a care in the world.
Ahhh, the good ol' days. Sometimes I miss them! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThese are certainly oldies, but goodies!
ReplyDeleteYou tow look exactly the same too...you haven't aged a day!
Some great memories...don't the newlywed days seem so far away? I can barely remember what it was like to only have yourself (and new hubby) to worry about!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your memories with us. Sometimes I think we were all happier back when we started out with nothing ...
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice first apartment! I don't think I have any pictures of our first apartment's kitchen. I don't think you could get in there holding a camera. There wasn't room.
ReplyDeleteWhen we moved into our first house, we didn't have any furniture in the living room for a full year. It made for a fun dancing space though :)
Your husband was smart!!! I think we had to order pizza to eat on our first night in our new home.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Love it! You all look so happy and in love. That's what it's all about.
ReplyDeleteOh, this picture reminds me so much of me and my young tan hubby! We got married the week before Christmas and returned to our first apartment on Christmas Eve. We unwrapped our wedding gifts on Christmas morning.
ReplyDeleteFeeling all nostalgic now!
Have a great trip!
Ya'll look so sweet and so young :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your memories, they are sweet. Does it feel like it was yesterday, yet a million years ago too? That's often how I feel.
ReplyDeleteYou both look so young! The early days were great times, weren't they! It was always fun starting out and making do.
ReplyDeleteGreat "Fro"! I miss the honeymoon phase! :)
ReplyDeleteso young and everything clean and white..that's before kids...I know!
ReplyDeleteVery cute couple!
What fun pictures! Newlywed days sure were a blast, weren't they? But I don't think I'd give up life now to go back to them. Thanks so much for sharing!
