Teacher’s Helper

My daughter really is a very patient teacher’s assistant.  She will sit quietly without ever saying a word and listen to her big brother as he sounds out the words to read the Bible story each night.  It is quite precious.

And the other day I discovered that having her quiz him on flashcards is the perfect way to let her be involved in school.  She happily sits and holds the cards up for him and will praise him when he gets the answers correct.

Leaving me free to fold laundry or eat bon-bons…whatever the case may be!

    Eat bon-bons while folding laundry. Of course, that would probably lead to more laundry . . . Darn.

    that is AWESOME! I love the idea that she praises him when he gets it right, but how would she know? Your kids are so CUTE!

    They are just math sentences for addition up to 10... so it would have something like 3+4= on one side and on the back it would say 7.... trying to get him to memorize them and not just count it out... but she can recognize numerals 0-10, so she can actually tell if he is right. :-)

    Great idea! My little one wants to be in the business during homework time. This might be a great alternative to the snarling/fighting over his papers and books.
