Thanks so much for your encouragement on Monday. I am happy to say that on Tuesday I ran 6 miles!! My dear husband has given me the gift of 6 songs to download to my MP3 player as an encouragement for completing this goal and to help me as I strive to make it the next 4 miles in the next 3 weeks.
Here's where you come in...
I need your suggestions for great running songs.
So please leave a comment with your best running songs. I hope to download them later tonight or tomorrow so I can listen on Sunday when I do my next long run.
Thanks in advance!
Oh, fun! I have lots of 70's tunes on my ipod. "Ain't no mountain high enough" is what I listen to when I dream of my Pikes Peak Ascent goal. "Bad Girls" is a good one for feeling spunky. "I will survive," when you hit that big hill on the course. And of course, "Bootylicious," no explanation neccesary.
ReplyDeleteHave fun.
Okay..I'm going to tell you some of what's on MY iPod (please don't judge LOL)
ReplyDeleteBite the hand that feeds- Nine Inch Nails
Rebel Yell- Billy Idol
Blame it on the boogie - Michael Jackson
Feel Good Time - Pink
Feel Good Inc- Gorillaz
Everlong (electric version) - Foo Fighters
Jiggle it - Young Jeezy
Kryptonite - Purple Ribbon All-stars (??)
Hope those helps. Get your work out on for the both of us since I'm laid up. :)
Wow, 6 miles? I don't think I could walk 6 miles. So, I'm not the best person to ask, but I do love to play RESPECT by Aretha when I'm cleaning. That's a workout!
ReplyDeleteHow about Chariot's of Fire...lol...just teasing
ReplyDeleteI have no idea but Delirious has songs with great beats to them and you can worship at the same time...I love multitasking!
Way to go!! Here are two songs that really get me going when I am about to give up.
ReplyDeleteKryptonite - 3 Doors Down
Pump It - Black Eyed Peas
These songs I just like!
Switch - Will Smith
Crazy In Love - Beyonce
Butterfly - Crazy Town
Rock Your Body - Justin Timberlake
The Way I Are - Timberland
Happy Running :)
i haven't been slacking, really! i've been thinking alot about this since yesterday and am compiling a list as i go along. i don't have time to type them now so check back tonight (late) and they'll all be there. 6 songs, right? maybe a few more so you have a choice. sorry for the delay!
ReplyDeleteRebel Yell...that's a good one. Although I'm not a big fan I like (used to) to exercise to Destiny's Child. Survior (is that spelled right?) , ya know girl power songs. Like Kristy said Beyonce and Rock you body is great to get ya movin'! I'll try to think of more.
ReplyDeletei can't believe i didn't read this post until today! i hope i'm not too late! so i'm thinking you need songs that will put a smile on your face. ya know, things you have an emotional connection to. of course they must be up-beat as well. (do i sound too much like a music therapist here?) so, for you i might recommend some 60's do-wap (Aretha, Supremes, Temptations, Four Tops) or some good 80's tunes. i know you can't sing when you run, but you can sing really loud in your head. and i know you will! so pick ones that you would rock out to if you weren't running. can't wait to hear your final choices!
ReplyDeletehere they are:
ReplyDelete1) The Distance - Cake (because you will go...)
2) Flower - Moby (good pump up song)
3) Unbelievable - EMF (it'll take you back to middle school, in a good way)
4) MMMBop - Hanson Bros. (it'll take you back to middle school, but in a different good way)
5) Suddenly I See - KT Tunstall (from The Devil Wears Prada)
6) Canned Heat - Jamiroquai (picturing N.Dynomite boogie will keep you going for another 5 minutes and 29 seconds of your run)
7) Dreaming of You - The Coral (this song just makes me smile while I'm running)
8) Gettin' Jiggy Wit It - Will Smith (no explanation necessary, obviously!)
There you have them. I can't wait to hear how it goes tomorrow! You can do it!!!
oooh. I like stella g's list. My only suggestion is cheesy but oh so faithful for such a time as this...... Eye of the Tiger.
